January 19, 2000, with some help from his friends at Ninemsn Humphrey
B Bear talked for the first time ever!
Humphrey was very excited to have the opportunity to speak to all
of his friends in the Ninemsn chat room. If you missed the big event
there is no need to despair as we've repeated the entire conversation
for you to read.

Humphrey! We're so glad you could be with us tonight and answer
our questions.
Humphrey says: Thank you and
hello everybody... what a funny old feeling this is... I am sooooo
excited to be on line with all my friends. In fact I am so excited
that I nearly dropped my honey jar... I had to put it down... I
didn't want to spill any of my precious, delicious, runny, sticky,
golden honey. You all know that I love honey... (giggle)... I promised
the Magic Forest Bees that I would say "hello" to them
on line... so... "Hello bzzzzzzzzzbees... it's me... Hu. much
fun. Now it's time to start chatting with you... so please ask your
questions... and remember to take turns and be patient.

Pookie says: Humphrey do you like
doing your television show and having all us kids watch you because
it makes us so happy to watch you?
Humphrey says: Yes I love being on television because it means I
get to make so many friends ...friends like you.
cheeky says: why don't you speak,
Humphrey?
Humphrey says: Wow... I get asked that question so many times...everyone
communicates in different ways...some people speak...some use sign
language...and some people use the web. I like communicating with
my friends without speaking... they all understand me... we all
have fun together.
dangermouse says: Humphrey: The
vest is very cute, but why dont you wear any underwear?
Humphrey says: Well when they first asked me to be on television...they
gave me a vest to wear and a yellow bow tie which I love and a straw
hat with a striped band which I think looks really cute but they
didn't give me pants... which is good ... because bears don't wear
pants... and I wouldn't be able to dance and have so much fun in
the forest if I had to wear pants.
flick_kids says: do you have a
girlfriend?
Humphrey says: I have lots of friends... some are girls and some
are boys.
Fairy_Girl says: Humphrey are
there any fairies in the Magic Forest?
Humphrey says: There are lots of creatures in the Magic Forest...
it's a place where anything can happen it's a very magical place...
and yes I believe there are fairies...I think they live down behind
the Jellybean Mountains.
spike says: do you have any brothers
or sisters?
Humphrey says: I have a huge family in the Magic Forest, they are
not brothers and sisters like you mean, but families come in all
shapes and sizes, and no matter what as long as you love each other
and have fun it's OK.
flick_kids says: humphrey do you
find it hard to use your hand without all your fingers?
Humphrey says: No... I have all my fingers... three on each hand.
flick_kids says: humphrey is your
belly so big because you eat too much breakfast?
Humphrey says: Mmmm.... good question....I eat too much honey for
breakfast... lunch... dinner and any time in between... so that
could be why my tummy is so "cute"
Fairy_Girl says: what is your
favourite food other than honey?
Humphrey says: Mmmm... more honey.
Pookie says: Humphrey does your
hands get sticky when you eat hunny out of your jar?
Humphrey says: YES... and that's the best part, oh and I should
say that everything else in the Magic Forest gets sticky too.
